SewRob started in 2000 by owner, Rob Nikpour when he branched off of the family business. He worked out of a small studio in Ardmore, where his tailoring skills and personable customer service allowed him to grow and excel. He met with most of his clients on a house-call basis. In order to spread the word of his new business, Rob approached local retailers and offered his services to their clients. Since he didn’t participate in any advertising, all of his customers were brought by word of mouth, one satisfied customer to another.
As the need for a fitting location grew, Rob moved to an office space where clients could make fitting appointments for tailoring. In this location, he was able to expand his staff and start to make SewRob a household name.
In 2004, SewRob moved to Wynnewood, in the Whole Foods Plaza, which provided a store front in a busy shopping center. Currently, SewRob has grown to house a boutique and production department on the Main Line, with a full staff who services more than 13,000 clients. We run monthly tailoring promotions in The Main Line Times and Suburban Main Line. We also work with local schools to develop uniforms and offer prom tailoring promotions. Our production department has helped local designers get their start and expand their product lines. We also have partnered up with local business owners to offer a wider range of services to our mutual clients.
“Sew Rob (Rob Nikpour) is a magician… They have made a custom suit for me and tailored numerous off-the-rank suits, gowns, slacks and dresses… I always appreciate his candor and he has a great eye for fashion and fit. His work is… worth every penny.”

“Just wanted to [say] how much I appreciate the way [SewRob] fixed my tan corduroy jumper. The darts you added in the back make all the difference in the world. It went from being a “sack” to being an outfit! I wore it today, and absolutely love it! You are amazing!!! Thanks a million!!!”

“[My bustle] held perfectly all night long through some pretty vigorous dancing. My mother was beside herself with joy. You should have seen her face! I’ve now told all of my Main Line friends about [SewRob] and directed them to your shop. I was so, so fortunate that the folks at Bijou recommended you… I knew my gown was in good hands – magic hands! – with you so THANK YOU!”

“I discovered after trying many other tailors in Philadelphia, how hard it is to find a good tailor in this town… Sew Rob is certainly one of the best. Every item that I have ever brought to Rob has always been altered properly to fit my body perfectly. I have yet to find anyone better in Philadelphia or the surrounding area.”

“Kara’s dress looked beautiful and fit her perfectly. One of my friends actually commented on the lace along the side of her arms and I told her it was your suggestion… It was a pleasure working with [the SewRob] staff. Many thanks for all your patience and hard work. We hope to work with you again in the future.”
