Sewing Assistant / Seamstress

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to daily garment production, working with various fabrics and styles
  • Operate industrial straight-stitch machines, with potential to learn coverstitch, blind hem, and purl stitch machines (home sewing machines may also be used)
  • Learn, perform, and eventually teach different sewing operations
  • Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • PASSION for sewing and a drive to learn and grow
  • Basic to intermediate sewing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and good eyesight (with or without glasses)

What You’ll Do:

  • Work directly with the Head Patternmaker on custom designs and intricate tailoring
  • Participate in garment fittings to ensure precision and client satisfaction
  • Transfer client fittings to paper patterns and adjust based on draping and body movement
  • Cut and prepare fabric for custom designs and lining replacements
  • Maintain quality control for consistent, high-end results
  • Prepare invoices/work orders to streamline production communication
  • Act as a liaison between SewRob and clients — scheduling appointments and answering questions
  • Occasionally travel between store locations (company vehicle may be provided)

The Role:

We’re seeking a Boutique Sales Associate who will play a key role in both the retail and service sides of our boutique. This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment that blends traditional retail responsibilities with hands-on involvement in our tailoring services.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Handling, processing, and displaying merchandise on the sales floor
  • Managing daily client interactions in the boutique and through phone/email
  • Supporting clients in selecting clothing, accessories, and tailoring services
  • Assisting in peak service seasons with duties beyond typical retail tasks
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor

As part of our small business team, you’ll gain knowledge of all SewRob departments, enabling you to answer customer inquiries or quickly find the right information.

This is a hands-on, deadline-driven position that requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for the craft of sewing.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Professional sewing experience with diverse garments (bridal gowns, suits, denim, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and pattern manipulation
  • Expertise in working with high-end fabrics and designer pieces
