The successful exposure of our tailoring operation, which started strictly by word-of-mouth testimonials, has allowed us to branch out, including: repairs division for knits/wovens/denim, custom making, garment copy and a retail division.

SewRob is looking for a patternmaking assistant with a strong understanding of patternmaking, garment construction, and sewing with excellent customer service skills to become a permanent asset of SewRob and its future growth.
The ideal candidate is motivated, organized and energetic and has:
- A strong knowledge of patternmaking and garment construction
- Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- The ability to grasp concepts quickly and creatively problem solve
- The ability to properly interpret work orders
- The innate ability to be self-motivated
The patternmaking assistant will work directly with the head patternmaker for custom making and intricate tailoring procedures and applications. Precision is expected for all tasks.
A high level of customer service is crucial- the candidate will participate in garment fittings to guarantee maximum client satisfaction. The candidate will need to transfer pinnings to paper for custom patterns. He or she must also understand how draping fabric on a body impacts pattern revisions. The candidate must be able to listen and interpret exactly, not only the clients’ needs and directions, but also the directions of the head patternmaker. The candidate will be constantly learning new skills and will be expected to retain new skills and information
The following are some of the typical responsibilities that will be required:
- Acting as a liaison between SewRob and clients to set up appointments and answer any questions
- Understanding the operation flow
- Quality control to ensure maximum client satisfaction
- Preparing invoice/work orders, to ensure smooth communication between the SewRob production team and clients
- Cutting/preparing fabric for custom design garments and lining replacements
Some travel between locations will be required for transport of merchandise. Company vehicle may be provided for daily travel between store locations only.
Full Time is preferable, 35-40 hours per week. Part time, with the expectation of becoming full time, will be considered. The store hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 4:00pm. Some Saturdays may be required.
