The successful exposure of our tailoring operation, which started strictly by word-of-mouth testimonials,
has allowed us to branch out, including: repairs division for knits/wovens/denim, custom making, garment copy and a retail division.

Our clients come from far and wide to take advantage of our wide range of services and to have their clothes expertly fitted or repaired.

SewRob has openings for two different skill sets.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about sewing with basic to intermediate sewing skills.

The sewing assistant/seamstress will contribute to the daily production sewing of many different types of garments on a variety of fabrics.

You will be asked to learn, retain, perform and eventually teach different sewing operations. These are the necessary steps to grow within the company.

You will be asked to operate industrial straight stitch machines, and move up to coverstitch, blindhem and purl stitch machines. You may also use home sew machines. Experience with any or all of these machines is extremely helpful.

MUST HAVES:

  • PASSION to learn, retain taught material, and use of learned skills in different applications
  • English language reading skills are encouraged and must grow and learn
  • Attitude to learn and teach others
  • Self-motivation and self-drive in order to advance skill level
  • Attention to detail
  • Very good eyesight (with or without glasses)

The sewing assistant/seamstress position has the potential for growth and promotion to the tailor/dressmaker position for a passionate and determined candidate that is committed to personal and company growth.

You are asked to always be producing. This is a deadline-oriented operation; the environment is geared towards constant production.

Full time is preferable, 35-40 hours per week. Part time, with the expectation of becoming full time, will be considered. The store hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 4:00pm. Some Saturdays may be required.
